Community Action

Community solidarity in practice

Join an active network of advocates, employers, and peer navigators eliminating institutional barriers for people returning home to Chicago neighborhoods.

Ways to Serve

Three distinct pathways

Whether offering individual career guidance, fair employment opportunities, or agency service partnerships, your participation creates direct stability.

Peer Navigator

Fair-Chance Employer

Directory Partner

Support individuals one-on-one through local transit systems, digital benefit portals, and appointment planning during their initial ninety days home.

Open living-wage career roles and skills apprenticeships within your company, backed by clear onboarding frameworks and mentor support.

Register your verified community organization to receive direct client inquiries without bureaucratic delays or confusing referral paperwork.

Navigator Training

Lived experience leads

Our navigator training cohort equips community volunteers with trauma-informed communication skills, local social service mappings, and de-escalation methods. Individuals with direct justice-impacted experience guide every curriculum phase.

Volunteers commit four hours weekly to assist returning citizens with practical milestones—obtaining state IDs, opening bank accounts, and coordinating healthcare appointments across Cook County.
